Create and Manage Slot Templates
Slot templates define the connection path supplied to jigsaw generation. Built-in templates are protected; custom templates can be created, updated, exported, persisted, and deleted.
Choose a template
Open the Templates panel and select Standard Convex, Standard Concave, Straight Line, or one of your custom templates before generation.

Built-in templates cannot be overwritten or deleted. A highlighted template does not mean every generated edge uses that one shape; inspect the result with your chosen contour and parameters.

Slot templates define the curve along a connection. Explore the library, then create a version of your own.
Create a template
Click + in Templates and enter a name. Save becomes available when the template has a name and a valid path.

Create your own slot template in four steps
Follow the same Website Demo Wave example from an empty editor to a saved custom template.

Create and name
Click + in Templates and enter a name. Save becomes available when the template has a name and a valid path.

Draw and refine the curve
Draw an open Bézier curve, then choose Edit Points. Move anchors to position the path and drag the hollow handles to shape its bends.

Finish editing and save
Choose Finish Editing, inspect the curve, then Save. Path Dimensions describes the curve's bounding box, not the size of a finished puzzle piece.

Find your saved template
Back in Templates, search for Website Demo. The matching custom template card confirms it is saved. Select it and try it on a simple closed contour.
Import SVG can provide a starting path. The template editor reads the first supported path, so prepare an SVG containing the curve you want to use.
iPhone
Create your own slot template in four steps
Follow iPhone Demo Tab from the template library through drawing and point editing to the saved template.
1Create a template
Click + in Templates and enter a name. Save becomes available when the template has a name and a valid path.
2Name and draw the path
Tap + in Slot Templates and enter iPhone Demo Tab. Tap successive points in the drawing area to create an open path; double-tap to finish.
3Finish editing and save
Tap Edit Points to reveal the six anchors in this example. Finish Editing returns to drawing mode; Save keeps the named template.
4Find your saved template
Search for iPhone in the library, then tap iPhone Demo Tab to select the saved template. The example is an open polyline; its dimensions describe the path, not a finished puzzle piece.

Persist, export, and delete custom templates
Saving a custom template adds it to persistent template storage so it can be available to new projects. Export SVG for a portable copy. Built-in templates cannot be edited or deleted, while custom templates can.
